STARS OVER MANHATTAN
ACROSS THREE DAYS IN NEW YORK, THIS YEAR’S 40 UNDER 40 DELVED INTO STYLE, EDUCATION, PHILANTHROPY . . . AND EVEN A LITTLE INCIPIENT FAME.
FOR OUR EIGHTH ANNUAL 40 Under 40 gala—sponsored by Hu-Friedy, KaVo Kerr Group and Midmark— Incisal Edge decided to pull out all the stops for a jumbo- (and Jumbotron-) sized gala in Manhattan. From May 30 to June 1, nearly three dozen of America’s top young dentists from across the U.S. took part in a professional fashion shoot at the Kimpton Hotel Eventi in the artsy Chelsea neighborhood.
They got a lot more than they perhaps expected, though, in the form of the inaugural #NextGenSummit: four free CE credits, 12 expert panelists, goodies and gifts from vendors iGourmet and Simon Pearce, and an address by Forbes Media chief content officer Randall Lane. There followed a hotel-rooftop cocktail party during which the docs’ images were projected onto an enormous screen overlooking Sixth Avenue.
Finally, they and volunteers from Benco Dental took part in “Dental Care in a Carrot”—a kids’ initiative led by Dr. Winifred Booker, CEO of the Children’s Oral Health Institute—with second- and third-grade students at the Ralph Bunche School in Harlem. The kids learned a great deal about proper oral care—and one of our 40 Under 40 docs was even mistaken for Taylor Swift. Can you guess who? See page 28 for the full package.
