Mauro Orthodontics
Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics
DMD, University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine
A sports enthusiast who put himself through school on a caddying scholarship, Dr. Mauro is grateful for his success: “I never wake up dreading going to work.”
Dr. Mauro decided to go into oral surgery after experiencing it himself. The surgeon who repaired his mouth when Dr. Mauro was in his early twenties later became a career mentor.
Dr. Mauro is most enthused by the trend toward custom orthodontia, such as brackets and wires custom-made
for each patient. “It will raise the bar for treatment across the field.”
The financial aspect of making it through school. Landing that caddying scholarship helped; he’d been a caddy since he was a kid.
Dr. Mauro will receive his Sports Car Club of America racing license this fall.
