Dr. Servetnik opened her practice with her husband, Dr. Chun Wong, when they were both 29 and determined to bring gentle pediatric dental care to their Houston-area community. The pair met in school, bonding after learning that they shared similar childhoods, both having moved to the U.S. at age 10 and growing up in underprivileged families. Cavity Patrol Pediatric works with Cy-Hope, a local nonprofit group, and donates a backpack full of food to underserved children for every new pediatric patient they sign up.

Why She Became a Dentist:

“I remember going to see the dentist in Ukraine. I was 7 years old, and I would go to the basement of our school to get my over-retained primary incisors removed. I didn’t have any fear until my teens when I needed dental treatment. I wanted to be a dentist so I could help people get their teeth fixed with less fear, since I could relate to them.”
