Why He Was Nominated:

In contrast to his sister, Karin (see above), with whom he shares a joint practice space, Dr. Grinbaum works with younger pediatric patients. He’s famed for being able to connect with them through laughter, music—and often beatboxing.

Inspiration:

“My parents. They immigrated to New York from Israel at age 20 with no education and no money. Through extremely hard work and belief in each other, they were able to start their own moving company. After the recession of 2008, their business went under. Rather than folding and giving up, they started another business. I learned that at any point, we can fall on tough times, but it is your will and strength that can get you out.”
