Why She Was Nominated:

Dr. Sturgill, currently pursuing Diplomate status with the American Board of Endodontics, owns and operates her practice, teaches residents of the Virginia Commonwealth Endodontic Residency Program and has made mission trips to Belize, Brazil and Uganda. She and her husband, orthodontist Dr. Jeremiah Sturgill (see above), have two children and two golden retrievers, one of which, Patton, serves as a comfort dog for patients at her office.
