Why She Was Nominated

Dr. Swords is the fourteenth dentist or physician in her family. Not only did she graduate from dental school with Distinction in Dental Education, but she also maintains a part-time position as clinical assistant professor at Baylor College of Dentistry.

Something People Don't Know

Dr. Swords received a full athletic scholarship to play Division I college basketball at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She was also a long jumper for the track team in college.
