Scott Dental Group
DDS, The Ohio State University College of Dentistry
Some might think Dr. Scott’s fate was sealed many years ago, when he was called upon to help his father, also a dentist, handle an emergency extraction case unexpectedly. Now, working alongside his dad at his own practice, Dr. Scott dedicates much of his time to bringing dental care to the underserved in his community. He serves on both state and national boards and is a member of the Ohio Dental Association and president of the Ohio Academy of General Dentistry. During the pandemic, he served as chairman for the AGD’s Return to Workforce Committee, helping guide professionals safely back to their offices and patients. He also serves on the ADA’s dental-products subcommittee and is an ADA delegate.
“I learned from golf that the most important thing to a golf game is the space between your ears. You need most importantly to remember the training you received in dental school and build upon it. In the dental office, two important tools are my iTero and 3D printer.”
“Remember that all doctors make mistakes. The great ones, though, recognize their mistakes and don’t repeat them.”
“I was the first crowned Ohio state wrestling champion in this century—in 2000, Division III, in the 103-pound weight class—and was ranked in the top 20 in the USA as a junior in high school.”
